PCB Deburring Machine

Conveyorised brushing and deburring system that removes drill burr from the copper surface and hole-walls of PCB after CNC drilling. The GE-GBD650 uses four pairs of #500 / #300 rollers at 1280 rpm with double spraying rinse — plate thickness 0.15 – 3.2 mm, working width 650 mm.

A PCB deburring machine removes the raised copper burr left on both the panel surface and inside the drilled holes after CNC drilling. If this burr is not removed, it breaks off into the chemistry bath downstream, contaminates the etchant, causes plating voids, and shorts the inner-layer connections during PTH. The PCB deburring machine from GE combines four pairs of high-speed brushing rollers with a downstream DI water rinse to clear both sides of the panel in a single pass.

The PCB deburring machine

GE-GBD650 — Double-side brushing deburring

The workhorse PCB deburring machine for double-sided multilayer production. Four pairs of rollers, 1280 rpm, double spraying rinse — runs as a stand-alone station or paired with the PCB brushing machine upstream.

Where the PCB deburring machine sits in your line

The PCB deburring machine sits between CNC drilling and PTH plating. For the cleanest pre-treatment, pair it with the PCB brushing machine one station upstream — brushing removes surface dust first, then the deburring machine handles the heavy burr. The full sequence:

  1. Board cutting & CNC drilling
  2. PCB brushing machine — surface dust and oxide removal
  3. PCB deburring machine (this page) — drill burr and hole-wall cleaning
  4. PTH & copper plating
  5. Etching & stripping
  6. Solder mask & legend
  7. HASL / OSP / ENIG finish

PCB deburring machine FAQ

A PCB deburring machine is a conveyorised brushing system that removes drill burrs from the copper surface and hole walls of a printed circuit board after CNC drilling. The GE-GBD650 uses four pairs of #500 / #300 rollers rotating at 1280 rpm to clear both sides of the panel, followed by double spraying rinse.

Use GE-GBD650 (650 mm working width, 12 kW) for the standard PCB production line handling 0.15 – 3.2 mm plate thickness. For R&D or smaller-than-500mm boards, use the GE-B400 / GE-B650 PCB brushing machine instead — see the PCB brushing machine page for those models.

A PCB brushing machine removes surface dust, oxide and light debris. A PCB deburring machine specifically targets drill burrs — both surface and hole-wall — using higher roller speed and dedicated brushing heads. For a complete pre-treatment station, use the brushing machine first, then the deburring machine.

GE-GBD650 runs at 0.5 – 6 m/min conveyor speed with 1280 rpm brushing roller speed. For 0.15 – 0.5 mm thin PCB run at 0.5 – 1.5 m/min; for 1 – 3 mm standard PCB run at 2 – 4 m/min.

GE-GBD650 handles PCB plate thickness from 0.15 mm to 3.2 mm. The 0.15 mm lower bound covers flex and thin multilayer; the 3.2 mm upper bound covers thick backplane and heavy-copper PCB.

Yes. The four pairs of #500 / #300 rollers at 1280 rpm engage both the panel surface and the hole-wall through the rotation axis. Combined with the double spraying rinse that follows, hole-wall burr is cleared without smearing copper into the hole.

GE-GBD650 footprint is 6500 × 1250 × 1000 mm (L × W × H). Allow an additional 1.5 m clearance at the load end and 1.5 m at the unload end for the operator or downstream conveyor.

Yes — the GE-GBD650 is designed for double duty. The four pairs of rollers clean both the surface and the hole-walls in one pass, so it can replace the PCB brushing machine on lines where the budget is for a single station. For the highest surface finish quality, pair it with a GE-GB650 brushing machine upstream.
